Designed by a sniper and issued to the military under NSN 1240-99-392-1276, this clever device reduces glare on the objective lense and resultant flash towards target.
Turning the tabs on the side of the shade causes the internal cover to open or close. The adjustment ranges from full open which allows maximum light transmission, through to fully closed which then acts as a protective cover for the lense.
This adjustment allows the filter to be tailored to the conditions from bright sunlight to overcast without excessive darkening of the image which usually results in the removal of a traditional honeycomb killflash when light conditions deteriorate.
Machined from aluminium and anodised black, this sunshade is screwed into place in front of the objective lens.
Supplied complete with carry pouch.
This model fits:
- Schmidt & Bender PMII 50mm objective
- IOR 50mm objective
- Steiner 50mm objective
Ideal for hunting or police / military use where elimination of light reflection from the objective is required and for target shooters on outdoor ranges.
A cold weather version is also available which has larger operating tabs for use with gloves.
